Marvel’s Avengers delays are everywhere at the moment. Both new characters and new versions of the games won’t appear as planned. In an update on the official site, Crystal Dynamics Studio Head Scot Amos first said the Marvel’s Avengers Kate Bishop Operation, which would add the other Hawkeye to the game, won’t appear in October 2020 like she was supposed to. Also, the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions won’t make the Holiday 2020 launch window. They’ll show up in 2021.
In the update, Amos cited quality and meeting expectations as reasons for the delay, saying that it wanted to work on “extensive internal testing.” The Marvel’s Avengers Kate Bishop Operation no longer has an October release window, but it has supposedly been bumped “back a bit.” The other Hawkeye, Clint Barton, is still on track to appear after her.
As for the Marvel’s Avengers PS5 and Xbox Series X delay, Amos didn’t say as much about it. he only noted the goal was to “to ensure that we give our team the time to deliver a next-gen experience showcasing all that this game is meant to be.” He did confirm that there will be a free next-gen upgrade, for people who do go to the new systems, that the PS4 and Xbox One save files will work on the new systems, and that the current versions of the games will be backwards compatible.
Marvel’s Avengers is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. The next War Table presentation will appear in November 2020. The Kate Bishop and Clint Barton Operations are on the way. The Marvel’s Avengers PS5 and Xbox Series X versions will launch in 2021.
