Bandai Namco still has Digimon Survive listed as a 2020 release, but it could soon be delayed again according to producer Kazumasa “Habumon” Habu.
A Digimon fan from South Korea expressed his concern at the lack of any news on the development of Digimon Survive, to which Habumon replied with the following:
Kazumasa Habu, Producer: “I’m sorry for making you worry. However, we’re currently reviewing the development structure of Digimon Survive and restarting its schedule. We plan to make adjustments with all parties concerned and will have an announcement on the matter in the near future. We feel terribly sorry for those who’ve been looking forward to it, but thank you for your patience.”
Back in April, it looked like Digimon Survive was delayed when Famitsu magazine changed its release date as “TBA” from 2020. However, it didn’t take long for Bandai Namco to confirm that it was simply a typo from the magazine at the time.
Bandai Namco first announced Digimon Survive in July 2018 with a 2019 release window. A year later in July 2019, the company announced its delay to a 2020 window. Since then, we’ve seen news trickle here and there, so the concern is certainly there among fans as we approach the end of the year.
Digimon Survive is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Check out Siliconera‘s interview with Habumon here for more on the game.
