Something is in the works at Ghostlight, a company known for taking Japanese games and publishing them in Europe or on PCs worldwide. Ghostlight PR Manager, Community Manager, and Games Tester Ross Brierley took to Twitter to tease a new Steam JRPG announcement. He didn’t offer many details, beyond it being announced “soonish.” The official Ghostlight account retweeted it, of course.
Here’s Brierly’s announcement hinting at an announcement.
Going to have a new Steam JRPG to talk about soonish :)
It’s one we’ll be releasing ourselves too!

What’s interesting is the second part of Brierley’s statement. He noted, “It’s one we’ll be releasing ourselves too!” A lot of Ghostlight’s work in the past involved acting as a publisher for others’ projects. For example, it was the Nintendo DS publisher for Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2.
In recent years, we’ve started to see Ghostlight working on more ports of console games to PCs. In 2015, it released Way of the Samurai 4, originally a PlayStation 3 game, on PCs worldwide. It later did the same for the PlayStation Vita’s Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God, bringing the roguelike to PCs in 2018.
Most recently, Ghostlight published the Nintendo Switch version of Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force in Europe and the PC version of Mary Skelter: Nightmares. Its new Steam JRPG announcement will be coming “soonish.”
