Announced in late July, this new installment of the Higurashi When They Cry series will be available for mobile devices. Returning characters include Rena, Satako, and Keiichi. However, with a new installment comes new characters. Three new characters have been added with the upcoming mobile release. These include Chiho Kimiyoshi (CV: Mayu Sagara), the second is Miyuki Akasaka (CV: Miyuki Sawashiro), and the last is Nao Ootori (CV: Rie Takahashi). Official biographies for these new characters were released through the official Higurashi When They Cry Mei website.

In addition to this, Ayane will be singing the theme for Higurashi When They Cry Mei. Higurashi fans will be familiar with her work, as she has been responsible for numerous themes throughout the series.
