We now know when the next Sega Ages installment will make its debut in Japan. Sega announced on Twitterthat people will be able to find Sega Ages Herzog Zwei in the eShop on August 27, 2020 for 999円 (~$9).
Sega confirmed the real-time strategy game would be a part of the Sega Ages lineup back in June 2020. It follows players going alone against the AI, using their mech to send out additional units to attack enemies. You could play alone against the AI or against another human player.
As is common with Sega Ages releases, Sega Ages Herzog Zwei adds some new features. One is the ability to check information panels to learn more about the current situation like your units’ status. You also can go through a Practice Mode to learn how to play the game or turn on the Helper option when you aren’t playing against a human opponent to increase your odds of survival.
Sega Ages Herzog Zwei will launch on August 27, 2020. A worldwide release hasn’t been announced yet. However, the Sega Genesis game was released worldwide in 1990 and the past Sega Ages installments have been localized, so it is a possibility. (The game launched on the Sega Mega Drive in Japan in 1989.)
