Nintendo is planning to release an upgraded model for the Switch along with a lineup of new games, Bloomberg reports.
While the specs of the new model have yet to be finalized, according to people in the know, Nintendo is looking into including more computing power and 4K high-definition graphics. The people said that the release of the upgraded Switch would be “coupled with, or followed by, a slew of games.”
Furthermore, we can expect to see something for everyone from these new games. From casual games that can be enjoyed in small doses to the more hardcore titles that can be marathoned for hours. The people familiar with the matter also said that Nintendo’s focus in the 2021 pipeline explains the relatively quiet software release so far this year.
A Switch game that “everyone will enjoy” was recently teased in Nintendo Dream magazine, so perhaps it won’t be long until we get to see one of these new games.
Nintendo struggled to keep up with the demand for Switch and Switch Lite, but it is said that the problem has been mostly resolved. However, the assembly for the new Switch model isn’t expected to begin until 2021, as production partners are busy making the current models.
The Nintendo Switch released on March 3, 2017.
