Fate/Grand Order #FGOW App lets you Spend Quality Time With Mash

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

A wave of new teases and announcements are coming, thanks to the Fate/Grand Order 5th Anniversary livestream. One of them was a surprise to end the event: A new Fate/Grand Order app. Don’t panic, though. It’s not a sequel or a new game, but instead seems to be a companion experience targeted at existing players. Known only by the hashtag “#FGOW,” the teaser footage shows a first-person view of Fate/Grand Order heroine Mash Kyrielight wearing a variety of outfits. Though the app is targeted for iOS and Android devices, it resembles the PlayStation VR-based Fate/Grand Order VR experience. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Check out the teaser below, along with our translation of the narration:

Narration: “This place is where past and future overlap: A Singularity. So too the joy, the sorrow, the love, and the heartbreak of your journey thus far.

Tonight, the other side of time shall be illuminated by the moonlight. That which was lost, becomes that which has yet to be lost.

And those who are beyond us, shine brilliantly once again. Such is the repayment for a night in the Chaldea of days past.

Mash: “Senpai, it looks like there are still quite a few secrets hidden here.

Though unconfirmed, the references and images seem to describe the “Lost Room,” a ghost story of sorts about a secret room located in the home base of Fate/Grand Order‘s Chaldea Security Organization. When entered at midnight, the room supposedly becomes a space where visitors can either see things they’ve lost (or are about to lose) or encounter visions and people from the past and future. It was featured in Fate/Grand Order: Moonlight/Lostroom, a one-episode OVA aired in 2017 as a setup for the Cosmos in the Lostbelt storyline.

The app is “coming soon” and may be a limited release, with an initial wave of only 550,000 downloads allowed. (In May 2020, the game celebrated a 20,000,000-download milestone.)

Here’s a new animated feature celebrating the game’s 5th Anniversary:

Fate/Grand Order is available now for iOS and Android, and #FGOW is on the way. Players can download Fate/Grand Order VR feat. Mash Kyrielight for free via the PlayStation Store.
