PSO2 Regions Revealed With the Steam Version’s Launch

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

When Phantasy Star Online 2 originally appeared in Japan, not everyone could get to enjoy it. There was a whole region lock issue following its debut, which meant people from outside the country who wanted to play had to resort to various methods to get in. When it came to PSO2 regions for the localization, the official word was there were “no plans to region lock” it. Now that it has appeared on Steam, we now know exactly which 33 countries can access this English release. [Thanks, Nibellion and SteamDB.]

SteamDB’s listing for the MMORPG goes over all of the restrictions, which offers a list of the 33 countries that can “purchase” the free-to-play game. While the North American countries of Canada and the United Sates are both very obviously there, it is open to people in some Asian, European, and South American countries as well. (Don’t worry, as Australia is on the list too.)
