Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has been in the news a bit lately, what with the Google Stadia debut confirmed for Fall 2020. However, FromSoftware has confirmed a free Sekiro update that could provide enough new content to encourage people to return. There will be what is basically a boss rush mode, asynchronous multiplayer-like Remnant messages, and new looks for the Wolf.
The Sekiro boss rush element will be known as Reflection of Strength/Gauntlet of Strength. As you might expect, it will let people revisit different boss fights.
Meanwhile, the Sekiro Remnants make it sound like FromSoftware is pulling from Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls a bit. Its a means of doing something others can see and adding an asynchronous element. After you record an up to 30-second action and create a message, you can then share it online. It sounds similar to Soapstones or seeing the ghosts of people who had died in Demon’s Souls.
As for the new Wolf forms, there will be three people can unlock. Only two of them have been named. They’re Old Ashina Shinobi and Tengu. These will be cosmetic alterations.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC now. It will appear on Stadia in Fall 2020. The free Sekiro update will arrive on October 29, 2020.
