Dweller’s Empty Path is a relaxed, short sort of game about talking and connecting with people. It follows a woman with animal characteristics, Yoki, who had a nightmare. To help get herself in a better place before she goes back to sleep, she leaves home to talk to some of the people around her.

Here’s a trailer showing off some of Chang’s illustrations, the people Yoki might meet, and the things she could see while she tries to sort herself out before heading back to bed.

Here are a few screenshots, showing off the game’s Game Boy aesthetic.

The game also follows the same character as Chang’s “Dwellers of the Mountain’s Forest” short.

As for who’s behind Dweller’s Empty Path, it’s primarily the solo work of Chang. She created and wrote the story, handled all of the illustrations and pixel art, and also was responsible for some of the music. Toby Fox, the Undertale creator, also worked on the music. Camellia, who people might also know as Cametek and a Bemani and Vocaloid song creator, did (almost) all the music arrangement. The 29-track soundtrack is available to purchase for $6.99 or be streamed via services like Spotify.
