Today is the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy IX and Square Enix announced that its Original Soundtrack Revival Disc will release on September 23, 2020.
Similar to the previous Original Soundtrack Revival Discs by Square Enix, fans will get to relive its music along with iconic scenes on the Blu-ray soundtrack.
In addition to the 110 tracks from the Final Fantasy IX OST it features an additional 42 tracks from the Final Fantasy IX Original Soundtrack PLUS which includes unused tracks and more. That adds up for a total of 152 tracks, all available to download as MP3 files as well. Out of the 152 tracks, 110 of them feature videos.
Moreover, the soundtrack includes special comments from the original staff. Character designer Toshiyuki Itahana is one of the developers among numerous others.
The Final Fantasy IX Original Soundtrack Revival Disc will release on September 23, 2020. It will go for 5,000 yen plus tax in Japan. Last year, Square Enix released the Final Fantasy VIII Original Soundtrack Revival Disc as part of the game’s 20th anniversary.
