Nintendo has announced a new Splatoon 2 Turf War community tournament for North America. The tournament will take place on July 18, 2020 and have players forming their own teams in order to possibly earn 2,500 My Nintendo Gold Points each. These points are mainly used on the eShop and can be used to buy things like games and DLC packs.
For those interested in trying out for the prize, you’ll first need to match the qualifications in order to enter. Players must be at least 13 years of age if they are from the US or Canada; Mexican players have to be at least 18 years old. Nintendo also reminded players that you’ll need a high-speed internet connection, as well as an active subscription for Nintendo Switch Online in order to play. Registration is open from now until July 18, 2020 at 10am PT/1pm ET, and the tournament itself will be held on July 18, 2020 proper.
You can sign up for the tournament via the official website. Previously, a Turf War tournament was held in the same region around January 11-12, 2020, making this the second time an event like this has been held.
Splatoon 2 is available on the Nintendo Switch. A manga spin-off of the game is being localized in the West, and you can read more about that here.
