With both Monster Hunter and God Eater providing updates to existing games to make them better, SEGA didn’t want to be left out of the update party. Today, Famitsu revealed Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity.
The major feature SEGA are pushing in Infinity is a new episode with an extended story. The Famitsu reveal also makes mention of a new character, Nagisa, who wears an eyepatch and carries a giant sword.
Update: Additional details about Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity are out. Nagisa is part of a new race called Dyunmans. The game’s fifth race is another human evolution where everyone has an eyepatch and an Infinity Burst special attack. Other races have new costumes in Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity.
Sega made a character reincarnation system, which allows players to reset their character’s level to build up their other stats. Players looking for a challenge can try out Infinity mode, a new difficulty level.
Other new features include a visual lobby, a cell phone style text input system, screenshot utility, and a tag mode-like feature where players can share mission codes like a “mission with a dragon” (think .hack style dungeon making). The amount of content in this version is 1.5x the volume of Phantasy Star Portable 2
