Back in February 2020, Good Smile Company first hinted that some of its figures and products could end up being delayed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now we’re starting to see the results of that, as multiple video game-related items are being pushed back. To be more specific, an Atelier Ryza figure, Dead or Alive Kasumi figure, a Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale figure, Hunter x Hunter Nendoroids, and both Fate/Grand Order and Splatoon figmas are being delayed.
Some of the delays are rather minor and only push products back one month. For example, most of the figures are being delayed from a June 2020 release to one in July 2020. This includes the 1/7th Ryza figure from Wonderful Works, the re-release of the 1/6th Kasumi figure, the Hunter x Hunter Nendoroids of Gon Freecss, Killua Zoldyck, and Chrollo Lucilfer, and the Gilgamesh Figma.
However, some of the delays are more substantial. Both the standard Splatoon Inkling Boy Figma and DX Edition, which includes a version of the character inspired by the Splatoon 2 look, are being delayed from June until August 2020. The Asuna figure is experiencing one of the longest delays, as her Starry Night model is being pushed back from June to September 2020.
Here’s a gallery looking at all of the delayed Good Smile Company figures, figmas, and Nendoroids.
The Atelier Ryza figure, three Hunter x Hunter Nendoroids, and Fate/Grand Order Archer Gilgamesh Figma will now launch in July 2020. The Splatoon Inkling Boy figma’s standard and DX versions will appear in August 2020. The Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale Asuna will appear in September 2020.
