Pokemon GO Galarian Farfetch’d and Mega Evolutions Announced

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Quite a few Pokemon mobile games were discussed during the first June 2020 Pokemon Presents. Naturally, some Pokemon GO updates were among them. While this was mostly a confirmation of certain events, like the upcoming Pokemon GO Fest 2020, there were teases of things to come and new, immediately available opportunities. For example, Pokemon GO Galarian Farfetch’ds are here, clothing has been doled out, and Victini and Mega Evolutions have been teased.

First, the Pokemon GO Victini debut was teased as one of those “sooner, rather than later” events. When talking about Pokemon GO Fest and sharing the logo, the Victini silhouette was shown. However, it was only confirmed as appearing “in game this year.”

Next, Pokemon GO Mega Evolutions were teased. The Pokemon Presents didn’t show what these might look like. We only saw the Mega Evolution symbol. It will be in-game in 2020, though.

As for the new Pokemon GO Galarian form, Farfetch’d is here. During the presentation, the character went live. These appear in the field, so you don’t have to search for Raids or take part in Research Tasks to make one show up. Likewise, the Pokemon Sword and Shield Isle of Armor outfits are immediately available in-game for players.
