The Amazon UK branch caused a bit of a stir on June 10, 2020. The company put up a bunch of placeholder product listings that were all PlayStation 5 related. What got people talking were the ones for the system itself. See, there were ones for alleged 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB models of Sony’s next console, and each one had the same PlayStation 5 price listed: £599.99 (~$760). However, IGN ended up learning from the company that isn’t the price of the system.
As one might expect from such product listings, that isn’t the actual PlayStation 5 price. IGN specifically noted it as an “error,” after hearing back from an Amazon representative.
Here is Wario64’s tweet showing the incorrect price.
PlayStation 5 2TB placeholder listing on Amazon UK says it's £599.99. No link posted to Amazon but someone was able to order it apparently https://t.co/f7QUdXsdGu pic.twitter.com/1SEEInbeHP

However, it still could be a while before we even know what the PlayStation 5 price will even be. There is an event that will air later today, after being postponed from June 4, 2020. However, Sony has already said repeatedly that this presentation will be focusing on the different sorts of PlayStation 5 games people will be able to enjoy after the system launches. (We don’t even know if the console itself will be shown in any way the event.)
The PlayStation 5 is scheduled to launch in 2020. A price hasn’t been set and the system itself hasn’t been revealed. All we have seen so far is its DualSense controller.
