Steam Update Suggests Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Characters Could Be Sold Separately

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

When people buy Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, they get the three new characters and a new story campaign epilogue. However, an update caught by SteamDB suggests that we could see the three extra characters, who are returning fighters Sheeva and Fujin and new guest character Robocop, sold outside the pack. All three of the SteamDB listings, which track changes to Steam’s database, suggest that the characters will appear separately on June 16, 2020. However, this could be subject to change and shouldn’t be set in stone. All three characters’ listings have new and unique art that would be necessary for a product page for them. The Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath expansion is normally $39.99 on its own. If these characters are released separately and follow the usual pattern, then they would likely be $5.99 each.

Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath’s characters and storyline all served to help add more closure and include fighters who joined the game after launch. Its campaign largely follows Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, and Fujin as they are sent back into the past to get Kronika’s crown and help work toward her defeat. While guest characters, such as Spawn, Joker, Terminator T-800, and Robocop, do not appear, other DLC characters who joined later like Shao Kahn and Sindel play prominent parts.

Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
