Anime Expo won’t be happening in 2020 as originally planned, as the event was one of many canceled due to the pandemic. However, an Anime Expo Lite event will be occurring online July 3-4, 2020. The key art collaboration has been revealed on Twitter, and it’s an eye-catching one. The World End With You characters appear in the image.
Here’s the tweet announcing the Anime Expo Lite key art collaboration. In the The World Ends with You Anime Expo image, we player characters like Neku, Shiki, Joshua, Beat, and Rhyme in front of the 104 building in Shibuya. The year, 2020, appears beneath all of them. In the background, there are also two original Anime Expo characters, Ai and Xeno. As pointed out on the event’s official site, this would have been the Anime Expo 2020 program guide cover.
There have often been hints that more might happen after the events of The World Ends With You, with the Solo Remix and Final Remix event introducing a new character and hinting at potentially more to come. However, there haven’t been any announcements from Square Enix since the Nintendo Switch release.
The World Ends With You is immediately available on the Nintendo DS, Nintendo Switch, and both Android and Apple iOS devices.
