Like many other conventions, events, and tournaments, MomoCon 2020 was canceled. This Georgia-based fandom celebration wasn’t going to just fizzle out entirely however, and MomoConline has appeared in its place. This ambitious online festival will run from May 21-24, 2020 across various platforms (including Animal Crossing: New Horizons!), will feature guests, panels, vendors, and other events you’d expect from an in-person convention. The three highlighted MomoConline guests are SUDA51, Dan Salvato, and Team Ninja’s Fumihiko Yasuda.
SUDA51 will host a panel that will primarily be a discussion of his favorite video game releases of 2019. It will also include stuff he’s worked on, as the other subject will be upcoming anniversaries of his own projects. SUDA51’s panel will air via Twitch on May 23, 2020mat 9pm ET.
Fumihiko Yasuda’s panel will take place on May 22, 2020, also at 9pm ET. Yasuda’s panel will be a reflection on his work as game director for Koei Tecmo’s Nioh series. Yasuda was also one of the directors on Ninja Gaiden 3 and its follow-up, Razor’s Edge.
A third major panel featuring Doki Doki Literature Club creator Dan Salvato will air after Yasuda’s panel on May 22, 2020 at 10pm ET. Salvato will be discussing his video game influences and favorite aspects thereof.
You can check out the full MomoConline guests list and schedule on the MomoCon website. Other panels include the Overwatch cast and several individual anime voice actors, as well as presentations from companies such as Crunchyroll, Frederator, and Adult Swim.
