The thing about the BNA Netflix debut is that it actually already happened in one region. It was created for and launched on the service in Japan back on March 12, 2020, and it didn’t start showing up on regular TV in the region until April 2020.

BNA follows a woman named Michiru. She used to be a human, but one day found she was suddenly a tanuki beastkin with the ability to transform parts of her body, even looking like other beastkin. Perplexed by her situation, she heads to the one place in the world for beastkin: Anima City. Once there, she hopes to have a chance to live freely and perhaps investigate what happened to her. However, beastkin experience major racism from some humans. Likewise, some beastkin don’t trust humans. Due to her unique position, Michiru finds herself caught up in greater plans.

Here’s the official BNA Netflix announcement that helps set the stage with a trailer.

Other recent Studio Trigger projects include Indivisible’s opening movie, Kill la Kill: The Game, Promare, and Shantae and the Seven Sirens’ opening movie.

The BNA Netflix debut is set for June 30, 2020.
