The Nintendo Switch Online NES and SNES game libraries are expanding. Nintendo has announced it will be adding one NES game, Rygar, and three SNES games, Operation Logic Bomb, Panel de Pon, and Wild Guns, to the service on May 20, 2020. In Japan, the four games will be Rough World (Journey to Silius) and Rygar for the NES app and Panel de Pon and Super Punch Out!! for the SNES app.
Two of these titles are action games. Rygar follows a titular hero rises from the dead to dispatch evil forces. His unique weapon, essentially a frisbee or shield on a chain he sends out to attack enemies, is called the Diskarmor. As for Operation Logic Bomb, people follow Agent Logan as he heads into a lab with top secret research to find out why communication has been cut and people sent in haven’t reported back.
Panel de Pon is a puzzle game from Intelligent Systems, the Advance Wars, Fire Emblem and Paper Mario folks. It was released outside Japan as Tetris Attack, but the Nintendo Switch Online version will return to its original roots.
Wild Guns is a Western shooting game that takes the typical cowboys you’d expect and adds sci-fi elements. It has since been remastered and released on multiple platforms as Wild Guns Reloaded.
