People gradually building up their Sega Ages Switch libraries won’t have to wait too long for the next entry to come in for a landing. There’s not much of a delay at all between the Sega Ages Thunder Force AC release dates for Japan and other countries. The Western release is now set for May 28, 2020. This is just two weeks after the May 14, 2020 Japanese debut.
Sega Ages Thunder Force AC is a side-scrolling shooter that is a complete remake of Thunder Force III. Your goal is to take the FIRE LEO-03 STYX and use it to take the fight to the ORN Empire currently mopping the floor with the Galaxy Federation. In the main Arcade Mode, you can play it as it appeared in actual arcades, albeit with the ability to also unlock the FIRE LEO-04 RYNEX, the Thunder Claw FIRE LEO-04 RYNEX, and FIRE LEO-3 STYX MP Mass Production Model. Expert (default) and Freestyle (custom) leaderboards are available, save states can be made, filter and sound options are available, and you can create replays.
As is common with Sega Ages titles, it will have a second mode for people. This is Kids Mode, which makes the STYX and other ships stronger, lets players keep weapons instead of losing them they die, and gives everyone nine credits.
Sega Ages Thunder Force AC is immediately available on the Nintendo Switch in Japan, and it will launch worldwide on May 28, 2020. The previous Sega Ages release was Sega Ages G-LOC Air Battle.
