Promare was previously made available on digital formats on April 21, 2020, and the standard edition of the DVD and Blu Ray will be released later this month on May 19, 2020. The Promare collector’s edition will include a CD soundtrack from composer Hiroyuki Sawano, a copy of the film’s script (in English), a mini-poster, and a decal sticker. That’s all in addition to the features included on the standard edition.
The latest effort from Studio Trigger and Gurren Lagann and Panty & Stocking director Hiroyuki Imaishi, Promare saw a limited theatrical release in North America in September 2019. It was so well-received it came back to theaters for another limited run later in the year. A third run was planned for April 2020, alongside two new prequel short films. Unfortunately, that run was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
