Bandai Namco and Marvelous announced that Doraemon: Story of Seasons, which is currently available on Switch and PC, will release for PS4 in Japan this July. The information comes from this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]
The game, originally developed by Brownies, originally released fro the Nintendo Switch in Japan in June 2019. It followed with a PC release via Steam in October 2019.
Here are a couple of quotes from Bandai Namco’s Kenji Nakajima about bringing Doraemon: Story of Seasons to PS4:
- “We heard from many players that they wanted to play on PS4 too, so we started working on development right after development on the worldwide release.”
- “We’re currently considering free updates for both PS4 and Switch versions.”
Marvelous’ Hikaru Nakano also chimed in:
- “We’re working hard on a new development for what comes next after Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town.”
Lastly, here’s one from Shohei Yamashita of Brownies:
- “We ran into several hurdles porting to different hardware, but we’ve overcome the big hurdles.”
Doraemon: Story of Seasons is currently available worldwide for the Nintendo Switch and PC.  Doraemon: Story of Seasons will release for the PlayStation 4 in Japan on July 30, 2020. It’ll go for 6,100 yen. Check our earlier playtest on the relaxed farming game here.
