Sega is planning to release a new Sonic the Hedgehog CD titled Sonic The Hedgehog DJStyle Party on June 17, 2020. This single CD collection will include 33 Sonic songs, with pieces mixed by Sonic the Hedgehog series Sound Director Tomoya Ohtani. [Thanks, Game Watch!]
This new album will include music from the Sonic Fest events held at SEGA FES 2018 and 2019. Furthermore, all of the songs will be linked together in a non-stop, cross-fade version to create a single, unending “club format” flow of Sonic songs. Sega has chosen a wide range of tracks across multiple genres, different ages, and varying levels of popularity to appear. However, the company hasn’t released any information regarding which songs will be on the CD. A full song list will be revealed at a later date.
Now, here’s a look at the CD jacket for Sonic’s upcoming party album:
Sonic fans can also look forward to the on-going Sonic 2020 project, which will include new goods and apparel along with another CD. You can expect more reveals and information as the project unfolds over 2020, with reveals shared on the Japanese Sonic 2020 Twitter account.
Sonic The Hedgehog DJStyle Party will be released on June 17, 2020. It is set to retail for ¥2,400, or about $22, and is currently available to preorder on Amazon Japan. An official website is also open.
