XCOM: Chimera Squad is set five years after XCOM 2, and it’s a budget-friendly release at $19.99. However, if you pick it up early, it’ll be a whopping 50% off at launch. With a comic book-like visual style, smaller scale and price, it seems like a spin-off kind of experience on paper. Yet, it’s a continuation of the story and features several core gameplay differences.

To that end, a gameplay overview trailer was also released, showing off what’s different here:

The biggest changes appear to be related to a battle’s pace, with new systems informing turn order, character death, and starting positioning. Check out the official website for more details.
