Arc System Works announced that Guilty Gear -Strive- will be released in Asia via a Taiwanese release published by Bandai Namco. According to Bandai Namco and Arc System Works, the game will be released in Fall 2020. [Thanks, Bahamut!]
The Asia release will include Traditional Chinese text, alongside Japanese and English text options. According to Guilty Gear series producer Daisuke Ishiwatari, the reason why Bandai Namco is handling publishing (rather than Arc System Works Asia, situated in South Korea) is the result of idle conversation between him and Bandai Namco general manager Katsuhiro Harada a few years ago, which worked out and became a reality. Arc System Works will be working closely alongside Bandai Namco to ensure that more players in Asia will be able to try out the latest game in the series.
Harada also left a comment. He said that he’s always thinking of opportunities to work together with Arc System Works. He also said he’s glad the partnership worked out, so that the two companies can work together to continue promoting the fighting game genre.
The Guilty Gear -Strive-‘s closed beta test and will take place from April 16-19, 2020. Playable characters in the beta will include Sol, Ky, Axl, May, Chipp, Potemkin, and Faust.
Guilty Gear -Strive- is set to release for PlayStation 4 in Fall 2020. Check out the latest revealed characters, Millia Rage and Zato-1, here.
