All aboard! The next stop for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train involves its Japanese debut. The Japanese Demon Slayer movie release date is October 16, 2020. (Naturally, this is an as-of-now notice, considering global events and theater closings due to the pandemic.) The film will pick up after the anime leaves off and go over the events of the manga known as the demon train arc.
The details about the Demon Slayer movie release date were confirmed via its official Twitter account. This appeared alongside an official movie poster showing the cast and a new video clip promoting the movie. While the official clip has regional limitations, you can see a sample of some of the recreated demon train arc moments with Tanjiro, Nezuko, Inosuke, and Zenitsu. (If you haven’t been keeping up with the series in general, well, there may be some spoilers.)
Just like the Demon Slayer anime series, the Demon Slayer movie is being handled by Ufotable and Aniplex is distributing it. Aniplex of America also handled its anime’s North American release, and people can catch that on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim Toonami block.
As for Demon Slayer: Kimitsu no Yaiba games, two are still in development and on the way. Chifuu Kengeki Royal is heading to Android and Apple iOS devices, while Hinokami Kepputan is coming to the PlayStation 4.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train will appear in theaters in Japan starting on October 16, 2020. A worldwide release has not yet been announced.
