In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, people might be noticing the absence of some familiar faces. While characters who don’t have permanent places, but can visit are showing up, like Celeste and Kicks, others have been mysteriously absent. However, players are beginning to see references that suggest they could be around. Most notably, some Animal Crossing: New Horizons Brewster-related dialogue has been discovered. [Thanks, Cheryl, Kasilyn, and Animal Crossing World!]
This new dialogue refers to Brewster and his cafe. The first Twitter reference came up on March 29, 2020. In the French version of the game, Maddie (known as Olympe in that version) brought up Le Perchoir. That’s what The Roost is known as in that localization. On April 6, 2020, another user found that Clay would talk about Brewster and his coffee recommendations.
In both Animal Crossing: Wild World and City Folk, the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii entries, people could visit the Museum and pop in to have a cup of coffee, watch K.K. Slider perform, talk to characters, and store Gyroids. In the Nintendo 3DS’ Animal Crossing: New Leaf, it was its own shop. It isn’t yet showing up in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but the reference in the conversation could be foreshadowing.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available for the Nintendo Switch.
