Arc System Works is the latest company from Japan to announce that its staff will continue their work from home.
The notice from the developer states that the decision was made in order to protect staff, staff family, and fans from the further spread of COVID-19. The company wants to prioritize minimizing the risk for its staff and everyone included. This follows the national state of emergency declared on April 7 as a major preventative measure in Japan.
At the moment, staff members from Arc System Works are preparing for their remote work. They’ll have until April 10 to get ready to work from home. The office itself will be temporarily closed until May 6, 2020.
For this reason, Arc System Works apologizes to anyone who attempts to make contact via phone call which may not connect due to the current situation. Customer support for games will still be available. However, the company wants you to keep in mind that response time may take a little longer. Lastly, Arc System Works thanks fans for their understanding, and ask for the continued cooperation to keep everyone safe.
Late last month, Kojima Productions was one of the first companies from Japan to announce its remote work, following a staff member’s COVID-19 diagnosis. More recently, Masahiro Sakurai also announced that he’ll continue work on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate from home.
