Mobile Suit Gundam recently celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2019, and now the Uniqlo Gunpla shirts celebrating the hallmark are heading to North American stores. The website has updated to confirm its April 10, 2020 debut, as well as a special promotion for people who intend to stock up. Those who get three shirts get one free Gunpla model, while those who get six get two.
There are eight Uniqlo Gunpla t-shirts that will be available. All are unisex adult designs, with a few having images on the front, back, and sleeves. Each one will cost $14.90. Some of the designs and models available on shirts include the AMX-004 Qubeley, MS-06 Zaku IIs, MSN-00100 Hyaku-Shiki, MSN-04 Sazabi, a RX-0 Unicorn Gundam (Destroy Mode), a RX-78-2 Gundam sprue, RX-93 v Gundam, and the ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam.
Here are all the shirts available.
As for the free Gunpla models, two are available. One is the MS-06SU Zaku II, while the other is an RX-78-2U. You can choose which model you get after you buy three or more shirts. Should someone order both, they can choose to get both. However, as the site noted, supplies are limited and there isn’t a guarantee you’ll get the model you want (or any model) unless you buy early.
In addition, Uniqlo does have COVID-19 coronavirus advisories in effect. Retail stores are closed until further notice, so people must have items shipped. The return policy has also had a 30-day extension that begins once stores reopen.
The Uniqlo Gunpla shirts will be available to buy online on April 10, 2020. As a reminder, Super Mario 35th anniversary shirts will also be available soon, as they are already available on the UK site.
