A Rogue Legacy sequel has been confirmed. Almost seven years after the Cellar Door Games title made its debut, Rogue Legacy 2 was announced on Twitter. However, it’s early days for this roguelike action game. So early that it doesn’t even have official platforms yet. Instead, what people do have is a brief video clip revealing it, a few screenshots, some concept art, and a soundtrack sample.
First, Rogue Legacy 2 was announced when Cellar Door Games shared this clip of a hero entering a door.

Then, three screenshots were shared. These confirm that the general playstyle appears to be the same in the Rogue Legacy sequel and show that we’ll once again pick the new heir after our current avatar dies. It also notes that it will be possible to re-roll heirs.
The third announcement had to do with the Rogue Legacy 2 soundtrack. It’s a one and a half minute long clip of a song. In that tweet, it was confirmed that Judson Cowan and A Shell in the Pit will be composing it.
And the soundtrack will be jaw-some too :)

Finally, the reveal wrapped up with four pieces of concept art involving environments, accents you might see, some NPCs you might meet, and the heirs screen.
Rogue Legacy 2 is in development. The original Rogue Legacy is available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, PC, and Apple iOS devices. It ended up receiving a five-year anniversary update back in July 2018.
