The Wild Area event for Pokemon Sword & Shield updated with a new set of Gigantamax Pokemon. [Thanks, Serebii.]
In addition to the return of Gigantamax Snorlax, we now have Gigantamax Machamp and Gigantamax Gengar. The Wild Area Event will run until March 25 at 23:59 UTC. The previous Pokemon Sword & Shield Wild Area event rotation featured boosted raids for Gigantamax Toxtricity, Grimmsnarl, Hatteren, Kingler, and Orbeetle.
Players recently got to challenge the Legendary Pokemon Mewtwo in a special raid. While the Mewtwo wasn’t available to catch, those who managed to beat the raid scored Ability Capsules and PP Maxes.
In other Pokemon news, we recently got to see the new Mythical Pokemon called Zarude as part of Pokemon Day 2020. Google also joined in on the celebration with the Pokemon of the Year which ended up going to Greninja for the top spot. Lucario came in second place, followed by Mimikyu, Charizard, Umbreon, Sylveon, Garchomp, Rayquaza, Gardevoir, and Gengar.
Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are available for the Nintendo Switch. In case you missed it, check our previous report for a look at a realistic Grimmsnarl design by R.J. Palmer, who worked on key art and environmental design for Detective Pikachu. The Expansion Pass will release in two parts, with Part 1 arriving in June 2020.
