The cavalcade of Final Fantasy VII Remake merchandise continues in Japan, and the latest item is supposed to be a combination of fashionable and practical. Zoff will release a pair of custom Final Fantasy VII Remake glasses. These will launch on April 3, 2020, though people in Japan can immediately place a preorder for them. They are ¥15,000 (~$140) before tax, though that price goes up to ¥16,500 (~$154) when tax is factored in. [Thanks, Twinfinite!]
The Final Fantasy VII Remake glasses both have decorative accents and accessories inspired by the game. Its lenses are designed to filter out and protect against about 50% of blue light. Near the right endpiece is the iconic meteor rendered in metal on the black frames. The left endpiece has the same two empty materia sockets as Cloud’s Buster Sword.
It is accompanied by collectible items you can use to maintain and protect the glasses. The box it is packed in has a metal plate with the game’s logo on the top, has the same sort of fabric look as Cloud’s shirt, and has the meteor logo in the inside in silver. Its cleaning cloth has the original Final Fantasy VII logo on a white piece of fabric. It also comes with a black card that has the logo in silver on the front and an etched image of cloud on the back.
The Final Fantasy VII Remake glasses are one of many wearable items designed to capitalize on the hype. Wearable speakers will be released, as well Aerith and Tifa-inspired jewelry.
Final Fantasy VII Remake will come to the PlayStation 4 on April 10, 2020, and these glasses will launch on April 3, 2020.
