Here are the highlights below:

Characters

Balthazar (CV: Subaru Kimura)

A troublemaker who comes from the Leicester Alliance. He proclaims himself to be ‘Leicester’s King of Melee’. His rowdy and indifferent personality caused him to become a fugitive, so he’s hiding in Abyss. He follows his desire to protect the people of Abyss that gave him shelter, and beats up any intruders.

Here’s the first encounter with Balthazar below:

Balthazar: “Haha, what luck! Alright, now choose – either you get beaten down, or you let us tie you up peacefully!”

Claude: “I’m sorry. I have no idea what I’ve done, but because of me I think we’ll have to fight. A hermit in the East once said, “If one throws stones at you, retaliate with a rain of boulders.”

Balthazar: “Seems like you’ve finally gotten the will to fight! Now taste the fists of ‘Leicester’s King of Melee’!”

Alphard (CV: Daisuke Hirakawa)

Note: English name may be Aelfric.

The overseer of Abyss under orders from the Church of Seiros. He brought a certain amount of order to Abyss, which was rife with crime and starvation. Calm and kind, he is trusted by even those of Abyss with strong distrust towards the Church of Seiros. He’s also the one who suggested the creation of the Ashen Wolves house.

Here’s Byleth’s conversation with Alphard below:

Alphard: “Byleth-sensei, I have a request for you.”

  • What’s the request?

Alphard: “The Ashen Wolves are a house in name only. They are a gathering of former students who lack a teacher. I would like you to guide them as a teacher. Of course, you must have your regular duties, so it’s fine if you just guide them when you have spare time.”

Skills & Classes in Cindered Shadows

In the ‘Cindered Shadows’ side story, how skills and classes work are different from in the main game. In Cindered Shadows, each unit will have pre-unlocked classes, and you can change their class between the ones available. There are also new classes available, so look forward to them too.

Skills are also preset, and you can choose the skills and Combat Arts the units use out of the ones that are available to them. Cindered Shadows’ maps have special gimmicks, and is slightly harder in difficulty compared to the main game. Refine your strategy based on what roles each unit performs in order to determine how to proceed!
