PlatinumGames has been teasing something possibly related to The Wonderful 101 again. This time, the developer posted a tweet with a suspicious image. The tweet had both the time and date set to 101, featured the game’s director, Hideki Kamiya, and had a Nintendo Switch in the shot.

The Wonderful 101 was first published for the Wii U by Nintendo back in 2013. Europe got the game first, followed by Japan and North America. The game received an overall positive critical reception, although failed to impress sales-wise. The game sold just 5,258 copies in its opening week in Japan. Its main gimmick is controlling a horde of superheroes who all team up for different forms, which you use to fight your way through levels and save civilians.

Back at Reboot Develop 2018, PlatinumGames’ Atsushi Inaba and Hideki Kamiya said that the company wanted to bring The Wonderful 101 to the Nintendo Switch. The first report was from Reboot Develop 2018 in Croatia with Atsushi Inaba and Hideki Kamiya. It came up again during a Famitsu chat between Inaba and Hajime Tabata. The company also stated that it expects numerous big and small announcements in 2020, starting early in the year. One of these was a partnership with Tencent Holdings, which gives PlatinumGames some capital investment to potentially self-publish its own titles in the future.

GameXplain has also pointed out a rumor about a The Wonderful 101 port to other consoles and supposed crowdfunding endeavor. It noted that a PlatinumGames Kickstarter profile, which has not been verified as belonging to the company, has been made.

The Wonderful 101 is now available worldwide for the Wii U.
