The newest Trials of Mana character trailer has arrived, and this time the focus is on two people who aren’t entirely human. The stars here are Charlotte and Kevin. (Kevin is part human and part beastman, while Charlotte is part human and part elf.) Each one experiences a severe loss at the outset of their adventure, which helps spur them into action.
In addition to both being half-human, they share a common enemy. Kevin’s father had Deathjester, one of his minions, cause Kevin’s wolfcub friend, Karl, to attack him. This awakened Kevin’s beastman blood and gave him the ability to transform, but caused him to kill Karl. Meanwhile, Charlotte watched as a Holy Capital cleric she cared about, Heath, was abducted by the Deathjester. She’s bound to try and bring Heath home again.
These shared background elements mean Charlotte and Kevin are considered one of the default “partners” in Trials of Mana. This means if you form a party with both of them in it, you will see extra dialogue as the two talk about their shared experiences and backgrounds. Similarly, Angela and Duran and Hawkeye and Riesz are the other two pairs.
Trials of Mana will be coming to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC on April 24, 2020.
