The next Dead Cells DLC has been confirmed. In the first quarter of 2020, people will be able to head into The Bad Seed’s The Arboretum and The Swamp. The add-on will cost $4.99, and a Steam product page is already available.

Each of The Bad Seed’s new areas will offer new challenges in Dead Cells. New monsters will be available in both, and The Swamp will even have a Heart of the Swamp area with a resident “mama” tick to defeat. (The Steam listing describes it as being reminiscent of StarShip Troopers.) Among the new weapons are a scythe.

The announcement also explained how The Arboretum and The Swamp will fit into Dead Cells’ existing biomes. The product listing noted they are “alternatives to The Courtyard/Toxic Sewers and The Ramparts/Ossuary/Ancient Sewers.” Consider them an option if you feel like fighting mushrooms and ticks.

Dead Cells is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It is also available on mobile devices. Also, while The Bad Seed will be paid DLC, it will not mean the end of free updates like Rise of the Giant.
