The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III may have skipped the PlayStation Vita, but this installment is still going to find its way to a handheld. NIS America has announced it will be bringing it to the Nintendo Switch. This will mark the first appearance of a The Legend of Heroes entry on the console. It will show up on the system in North America and Europe in Spring 2020. Then, it will launch on the Nintendo Switch in Japan sometime after. [Thanks, GameSpot!]
In addition to the announcement of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III Switch port, information on what it will be like on the system was revealed. Whether someone is playing in TV or Handheld mode, it will run at 30FPS at 720p. It will include all DLC and a demo will be released for it. (A PlayStation 4 demo is immediately available.) In addition, it will also get its own Extracurricular Edition that comes with an art book and a Thors Academy Edition with Mishy cat stuffed animal, Steelbook case, soundtrack, and postcards.
Here is footage of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III running on the Nintendo Switch.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III follows Rean after his graduation and the life-changing events of the previous two games. The Ashen Chevalier is now something of a legend in Erebonia, and he’s a new teacher at Thors Branch Campus in Leeves. He is tasked with training a whole new Class VII, which initially includes Juna Crawford, Kurt Vander, and Altina Orion. However, new threats will face the group and lead to old friends from the original Class VII returning.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III is immediately available on the PlayStation 4 worldwide. It will come to the Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe in Spring 2020, followed by a Japanese release.
