After multiple teases from Freebird Games Director and Composer Kan Gao on Twitter, the next entry in the To the Moon series has been revealed. In late 2020, people will be able to play Impostor Factory on PCs. It will be available on GOG, Humble, and Steam for Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. Its official website is now open.
In Impostor Factory, players follow a man named Quincy. After being invited to a party in a strange mansion, he discovers it is the sort of place that offers a time machine in the bathroom. While that may sound weird, apparently it is only the beginning. What will follow is a murder mystery with a time-loop involved.
Impostor Factory’s connection to To the Moon and Finding Paradise has not yet been made clear. The official Steam page notes, “Maybe it’s a sequel. Maybe it’s a prequel. Maybe it’s both.” Regardless of how it connects to the prior games, people do not have to play the original adventures to understand what is happening here. This is a standalone tale.
Impostor Factory will be available for PCs in late 2020. To the Moon is available for PCs and mobile devices, and it is in development for the Nintendo Switch. A Bird’s Story is available for PCs and bridges the gap between To the Moon and Finding Paradise, which is also available for PCs.
