Nintendo has more information on how the Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite are faring since the Switch Lite’s launch in September, and more, via their latest six months financial results briefing.

While the regular Nintendo Switch has been selling steadily, the launch of the Nintendo Switch Lite was able to add to the overall sell-through since its launch in the third week of September. President Shuntaro Furukawa attributed this partially to the launch of Dragon Quest XI S, as well as the Japanese consumption tax increase.

Furukawa also presented some statistics regarding the trends for Switch Lite sales, including the near-even split between first-time and second system purchases, as well as how women constituted more of the first-time buyer crowd, showing an expansion of the number of female consumers.

Furukawa also pointed to a steep increase in first-party software sell-through, thanks to titles like Super Mario Maker 2, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Astral Chain, and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening releasing steadily since June. The system has also been helped by the evergreen titles that have released before this fiscal year.

Some other interesting points were given regarding some individual games as well:

  • Super Mario Maker 2 has over 8 million courses uploaded as of now, which have been played over 400 million times in total.

  • Fire Emblem: Three Houses has sold over 1.7 million units, which is the highest in the same period compared Fire Emblem Awakening and Fire Emblem Fates.
