Korean Rating Appears For Princess Maker 3 Nintendo Switch Version

The Princess Maker series could be coming back to consoles. Princess Maker 3: Fairy Tales Come True has been rated by South Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee. It has been rated 15+, though no other content descriptors have been assigned yet. (Thanks, Gematsu!) 

Each Princess Maker game is a life simulation where the player is a parent who must raise a child, who usually is around 10 years old when the game starts, and raise her until she’s 18. You determine her daily schedule, deciding which classes and jobs she takes, which in turn determines her stats and what her future looks like. You also get chances to talk to her, sometimes send her on adventures, choose her clothing, and may be able to determine who she marries. However, unlike the first two games, Princess Maker 3 has no RPG elements or opportunities to send her off on adventures to battle enemies.

In Princess Maker 3: Fairy Tales Come True, the player’s daughter is a fairy who wants to be human. To help her achieve that goal, the queen of the fairies approaches the player to raise her. While it is fairly similar to past entries, this entry introduced two major changes to the formula. One is that, when the game begins, you choose your avatar’s role. There are six possible jobs, each with different amounts of cash at the outset, salaries, and amounts of money that can be borrowed from the bank. Your profession also determines your daughter’s mindset at the outset. All of these factors determine the game’s difficulty, as a Retired Knight or Traveling Priest will have a decent amount of starting cash, steady salary, and happy daughter.

Princess Maker 3: Fairy Tales Come True is also the first entry with moods. If you manage to alter different stats or get the daughter into different mindsets, she will develop a mood that might make her better or worse at a job or in school. Some dispositions can even keep you from sending her to certain jobs or having her wear specific outfits.

Princess Maker 3: Fairy Tales Come True is available worldwide on PCs. It also appeared on the Dreamcast (in the Princess Maker Collection), PlayStation, and Sega Saturn.
