So we know that Yakuza: Like a Dragon plays more like an RPG, and this week’s issue of Famitsu details more on that with info on job classes including Fortuneteller, Riot Police, and Idol. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]
First we have details on the three jobs that are Fortuneteller, Riot Police, Idol that are basically Yakuza: Like a Dragon’s versions of mage, knight, and dancer:
Fortuneteller – Using a crystal ball in one hand, they use abilities that come with all kinds of mysterious effects. They’re able to bring the pain with fire and electric attacks, but come with low defense.
Riot Police – They’re tanks that use huge shields and clad in protectors to give them high defense.
Idol – A female-exclusive job that specializes in charming enemies and healing. They can use physical attacks with the mic in their hand, song skills, and have decent attack and defense.
Stats in this game are categorized under “Human Power.” There are parameters for passion, mentality, kindness, cheerfulness, intelligence, and fashion.
There’s also a parameter used for bonding with characters. You can advance through the drama of each character through bonding. The meter increases when you eat together, go to Play Spots, and more. Once it reaches a certain amount, you can start using co-op moves with those characters in battle.
Yakuza: Like A Dragon releases for PlayStation 4 in Japan on January 16, 2020. The game releases in 2020 for North America and Europe. Check our previous report to see more of Ijincho at night, and here for some new gameplay we saw at TGS 2019.
