Ys IX releases tomorrow in Japan and the latest issue of Dengeki has a lot of story spoilers, but Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo did share some tidbits on the Ys and Trails series moving forward. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]
While talking about the Ys series, Kondo-san says that he’d like to take a bold direction for the next title by bringing back a young and inexperienced Adol again. Based on what we’ve seen so far in Ys IX, Adol appears to be more serious and the overall atmosphere is pretty gloomy, so we could be seeing the complete opposite next time around.
Kondo also added that he’d like to consider a remake for one of the main-numbered Ys games, but didn’t share any further info on that.
As for The Legend of Heroes’ Trails series, Kondo says that they’re holding off from revealing too much, but Falcom plans to release bits of info at a time and he hopes you all look forward to it.
Ys IX: Monstrum Nox releases for PlayStation 4 in Japan on September 26, 2019. You can check out its latest trailer in our previous report. Meanwhile, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III recently released a demo on PS4 ahead of its release in North America and Europe on October 22, 2019.
