On July 10, 2019, people online were talking about a deleted Xbox Germany Facebook video. It suggested a Final Fantasy VII Remake Xbox One version was on the way. However, it has now been confirmed on Twitter that this was a mistake on Xbox Germany’s part by Maxi Graff, the Marketing Communications and Social Lead for that region. Final Fantasy VII Remake is a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
Here are the tweets first showing the error, then with Graff’s explanation that this portion of the video was made and uploaded by accident.
Hey. We did an internal mistake in the Social Team. We took the video off immediately. Sorry, no announcement on our side. Big apologies for this.

When later asked how it happened, Graff noted that the video was meant to talk about multiple Final Fantasy games for the Xbox One. The system has received Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster, and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age in the last few months, and Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is on its way to the system. Graff said that the Final Fantasy VII Remake footage ended up in the video by mistake, due to not confirming if it was exclusive or not.
Final Fantasy VII Remake will come to the PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020.
