We saw the first two animated ads for Final Fantasy XIV, and it got a somewhat cute and unexpected third part, showing how the hero and heroine from the previous ads meet and hook up in the game.
The whole theme behind these “Choose Your Life” animated ads is to show the different kinds of protagonists you can be. In the first video it showed a female Miqo’te heroine who was into exploring, taking screenshots, Chocobo Racing, and taking down giant robots as the Warrior of Light.
In the second video we met the male Au Ra hero who was just as hyped as I was to finally have a flying Warlion. It showed him living in a shared house, occasionally being a proper hero, but mostly spending his time being a degenerate playing Mahjong.
The keywords behind the third ad are “Heroine,” “Youth,” “Partner,” and “Adventurers.” In the video we see how the two meet, with the heroine totally carrying the hero who couldn’t be bothered to learn the mechanics. She decides to look past his gambling problem in exchange for his unconditional love and free rides on the sweet 2-seat Chocobo mount you get from Eternal Bond.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PlayStation 4 and PC. The Shadowbringers expansion officially releases today, July 2, 2019. Early-access started on June 28, 2019.
