Thor: The Video Game is coming to Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PSP, and Nintendo DS next year. And the game you get depends on the console you choose because Sega is making three versions of Thor: The Video Game.
PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners get a third person, Mjölnir throwing action game. The story, much like Sega’s take on Iron Man 2, will be made just for the game. Thor earns Valor (read: experience) points when he crushes frost giants and gargantuan foes like 25 foot tall ice trolls. Ulik, Ymir, and Surtur from the comics are confirmed to be in the game.
Wii owners get a similar story with a control scheme which uses the remote and nuchuck. Sega made other changes to the Wii edition of Thor like changing some story elements, cutscenes, dialog, and created flight levels. The biggest difference is the presentation. The Wii version will have a comic book feel to it. Thor: The Video Game for PSP shares the same features as the Wii version.
Finally, Sega is making a 2D side-scroller with a different story for the Nintendo DS. No word on which studio is developing what version at this time. Previous Marvel games from Sega were handled by Secret Level, which Sega closed after Iron Man 2 hit stores.
