A datamine has revealed some of the updates apparently arriving as part of the Super Smash Bros Ultimate 3.1.0 patch. Nintendo noted that the update would arrive this week on May 27, 2019 and feature fighter adjustments, but now details about other features have leaked out. Apparently, a Super Smash Bros Ultimate VR Mode and the ability to send amiibo fighters on journeys and into Battle Arenas will be among the new inclusions arriving in an alleged May 31, 2019 update. (Thanks, SSBUBot!)
The Super Smash Bros UItimate VR mode would involve the Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 04: VR Kit. People would be able to use the goggles from it to interact in a VR mode. However, the leaked patch does not explain how the VR mode would work.
The new amiibo functionality would involve new ways to train and use the NFC figures. People would be able to visit the Game & More amiibo section to send them off on training journeys or take them into Battle Arenas.
Here are the full notes from the Super Smash Bros Ultimate datamine.
