Sega has released two new videos offering insights into some of the Judgment characters players will get to meet. In these two segments, people get to meet Mitsuru Kuroiwa and Masaharu Kaito. The former is a detective voiced by Matthew Mercer. The latter is Takayuki Yagami’s former-Yakuza partner, who is voiced by Crispin Freeman. In each, we get to see recording sessions and hear their insights into their characters.

Mercer describes Kuroiwa as a “driven investigator.” He points out that he is “by-the-book.” He mentioned having to get into a calm headspace and “pull out of [himself] entirely.” He also mentioned how pleased he was to get a chance to step into the world of Kamurocho and become a part of the series.

As for Freeman, he talks about Kaito is what he likes to call a hurrican character. He noted, “…They just sort of pull all the stops, and there are times with Kaito that are like that.” He mentions how rugged, loyal, and strong the character is. He said how important it was to really warm up to play him, because he had to be prepared to make it through the four hour recording session that would demand a certain level of intensity.
