Eric “Concerned Ape” Barone has offered hints concerning the next major Stardew Valley update on Twitter. Patch 1.4 will not only include expected bug fixes, but also “new stuff and ‘quality of life’ features.” It will bring changes to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile versions of the game.

Most of the details about Stardew Valley update 1.4 were vague, but some specifics were offered. All of the new content will be available in multiplayer mode. Barone even noted in a tweet that some of the additions will only be for those playing with other people.

One of the quality of life adjustments will address an issue people may have had after passing out in the mines. If you fall in there, you can randomly lose any inventory items that aren’t tools. After Stardew Valley patch 1.4 is applied, people will be able to visit Marlon at the Adventurer’s Guild and pay him to recover one item that was lost.

As for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One multiplayer update, Barone offered information on its status in another tweet. That patch’s contents are in the quality assurance testing phase on both consoles. The current release window is tentatively May 2019. (The multiplayer patch is immediately available for the PC and Nintendo Switch.)

Stardew Valley is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, PC, and both Android and Apple iOS devices. Update 1.4’s release date has not been announced, but Barone noted it will make its debut on the PC first, before heading to consoles and mobile devices.
